FOUNDER

I’m 31 years old and am a Jersey girl through and through — I was born and grew up here with my parents and 2 older brothers. Like any Jersey girl, I love the beach and a good book, but even more so, I can’t turn down a Sunday bowl of pasta and a glass of red wine. I appreciate a balance in life and I want to bring that to you.

My fitness journey had an unconventional start. I was born with Talipes Equinovarus (also known as clubfoot), and had to wear special shoes and leg braces as a young child. My doctor recommended that my parents enroll me in ballet classes to help train my feet to “turn out,” and what started out as physical therapy quickly became something I loved and an important part of my life. Eventually school, work, and teenage life took over, and I stopped dancing in the studio. In my 20’s, I started frequenting a barre studio in my neighborhood, and was brought back to my roots. The total mind/body focus this form of exercise demands was exactly what I had been missing. I loved the structure and the graceful, intuitive, and challenging nature of the movement.

As I made barre part of my regular routine, I noticed once again how movement changed my everyday life. I was happier, more energized, and truly living in the moment. I wanted to share this experience with others and decided to pursue teaching barre as a career. I received my barre certification in 2018, and continued to enhance my education by pursuing my yoga certification in 2019, along with CPR and pre/post natal training.

Better Balance Fitness was brought to life during the COVID-19 pandemic, as I felt myself and those closest to me losing hope, sanity, and most apparently, balance. I want to motivate, inspire, and empower people to stay positive and keep a healthy mindset. I want to take my passion for barre and fitness, and pass the inspiration it feeds along. For me, it’s not about being the best, it's not about losing weight; it’s about taking the time to show up for yourself and feeling great about it.
